Wildflowers
A mix of 10 native UK species of wildflowers beneficial to bees, butterflies and other insects.

Contains:
Field Scabious, Common Knapweed, Lady’s Bedstraw, Bird’s Foot Trefoil, Oxeye Daisy, Yarrow, Alsike Clover, Lucerne, Red Clover, Black Medick

Sowing time:
Can be sown at any time when the risk of frost has gone. Best sown from early March to mid-May or from early to mid-September.
Instructions:
Sprinkle the seed mix very thinly onto a well prepared weed-free seedbed.
After sowing, the seed should be lightly raked in with a spring-tined rake. Firm the soil with feet or a roller.
Water thoroughly with a fine sprayed hose or watering can. Keep area well watered until seedlings are established.

Forget-Me-Nots

Flowering: Forget Me Not is a spring flowering biennial – early sowings will flower in the first year but will have a better show of flowers the following spring.

Sowing time:
Can be sown when all risk of frost has passed.
Instructions:
Plant the seeds in an area that gets either shade or full sunlight. Plant the seeds near the surface of the soil to be able to get the sun and air they need to germinate. Plant seeds about 1/8 inch deep to allow them some soil cover while keeping their sunlight exposure. Scatter the seeds on the soil surface and then sprinkle a little soil to cover them.
Water the seeds and the entire soil area where you planted them. Sprinkle the water gently with a hand-held plant-watering receptacle to avoid driving the seeds too far under the soil.
Thin the seedlings after they have sprouted. The seeds should sprout after about 5 to 10 days, so thin the successful seedlings to about 10 inches apart.
Water your Forget-Me-Nots once a week to keep the soil moist. Adding some mulch around the plants will keep more moisture trapped within the soil, resulting in stronger plants.
Place a thicker layer of mulch around the plants if you live in a cold climate. In warmer climates, Forget-Me-Nots do not need protection to get through the winter. But if the winter will bring frequent freezing temperatures, add a few inches of mulch around the plants to insulate the soil from the cold.
